$240 Worth of Pudding


“$240 Worth of Pudding” is a comedic sketch written by and featuring Thomas Lennon and Michael Ian Black. The sketch was part of Episode 6, Season 1 of the MTV™ comedy show The State®  broadcast in 1994.

The sketch features two characters, Barry and LeVon, who have purchased and prepared US$240 worth of pudding — pudding which sits in an large, unsubtle-pile on stage between the too characters. The ABCD Project covers “Pumped Up Kicks”

I love this acoustic cover of Foster The People’s song “Pumped Up Kicks.” There is something about it that feels very authentic.

I may be wrong, but the video feels like it was made by four friends who got together on the weekend, decided to jam, covered a popular song, and wound up inventing a new group named “The ABCD Project” — a name taken by combining the letters of the first names of each of the musicians. Brentalfloss brings a little country to Team Fortress 2

Fans of  the Valve Corporation® game Team Fortress 2® may enjoy this song written by Brentalfloss.  The music video for the song opens with the question: “What if Team Fortress 2® had a theme song?” What follows is a fun, country-song-themed romp through a Team Fortress 2® machinema. The lyrics playfully describe the benefits of each character class in the game including Snipers, Pyros, the Engineer, and Demoman.

Our comments on what makes this video “work”

Brentalfloss’s song demonstrates the potential for creating unique, new content that capitalizes on the brand recognition of well established aspects of popular culture. In this particular example, a clever/fun song about a well known multiplayer, FPS videogame. The song writer chose lyrics that describe aspects of the video game in a way that will feel familiar to individuals who play the game. Brilliant Russian motorcycle rock band

This brilliant motorcycle/drum kit creation was designed and constructed by Alexander Ishutin, a motorcycle enthusiast who resides in Moscow, Russia. I’m not certain this mode of transportation would be considered ”street legal” in the United States.
